Jade Jadeite

Jadeite entered Chinese court culture much later than nephrite, arriving principally from Myanmar and rising to prominence among Qing elites. Its intense green and translucency opened a new chapter in jade carving rather than replacing the older tradition. The distinction matters: jadeite's prestige comes from colour, rarity, and a documented history of cultural adoption.
